All about the bass …

Bass is all you need!

Heartbeat. Pulse. Groove. Five strings, one vibe. This is what my life is all about. An ongoing, perpetually varying bassline. It determines my life and who I am.

Obviously, this passion had to become my career. Because my groove defines my life and not the other way around. A philosophy that can be described best with two words: STRICTLY BASS

Why I make music

I felt abandoned, lonely and lost! This was not how I had pictured the end of this journey. Being crushed by 3m waves and no one there to save me. I was all alone, no one to turn to but myself.

During my childhood there was always enough of everything and I felt loved and protected by my parents. But at the age of 11 all of that changed within seconds. I learned that when it comes down to it only one person can be relied on. Myself. Of course there are people in our lives who stand by us and do everything possible to support us. But often enough circumstances do not allow these people to be in the right place at the right time. My father was only 100m away from me when I was fighting for my life. He was busy saving my younger sister.

It was the wake-up call of my life. I realized that day that all of us are lonely and have to rely on ourselves in some way. We feel lonely and abandoned for a variety of reasons. When we get rejected, when we loose someone, when we fail our dreams. And yet we are all together in this game called life. Music being one of the universal languages that connects us all. No matter where you are born or in how you grow up, we all can relate to the emotions and feelings that music manages to communicate. Often times we understand a song without  understanding the words.

Whenever I feel down, disconnected and abandoned music is there to make me feel one with the world again. It creates a connection with people I have never met or will never meet. And yet, to some degree, I feel closer to these people than to my own family. Music helps us to understand that we are not alone with our troubles. For me this is the original purpose of music and the reason why I make music. I want to help you to relax and unwind after a tough day or even a traumatic experience. Giving comfort and compassion, just as I have received it in the darkest periods of my life. Further than that, I want to inspire you to try new things. Motivate you to find out who you truly are and what makes you happy.

My solo project may be called Strictly Bass, but my message is: LOVE & BASS!
