About MM Education
Learn faster practice smarter
If you want to learn faster and practice smarter, you’ve come to the right place. Because, Mischa’s teaching concepts are not only focused on teaching you the right stuff but making you a better and more efficient learner.
The goal of Mischa’s Music Education is to show you how to teach yourself. While fundamental knowledge of the instrument and music theory are the main content of his lessons, he goes one step further and shows you how to hack your brain and accelerate your learning capabilities. Because, mental and physical health go hand in hand when you want to improve your playing.
One of the key concepts Mischa uses are “The 10 Elements Of Music” developed by 5 time Grammy winner Victor Wooten. Taking lessons from him inspired Mischa to show his students how the ten elements of music helped him to develop musical skills that capture an audience and be free in one’s musical decisions.
Mischa Marcks’ concepts are backed by a solid education that includes the instrument as well as the methodology. He studied electric bass at the ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Arnhem (NL) and graduated with Bachelor of Music and Arts (Jazz & Pop). To further enhance his methods he attended a variety of workshops and masterclasses around the world with teachers like Victor Wooten, John Patitucci, Marcus Miller, Gary Willis and many more. In 2015 he started a lectureship for electric bass and methodology at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. Additionally he is the head of the bass department of the Modern Music School (managing and coaching bass teachers in the USA, Canada, Germany, Greece, Iran and the United Emirates).
